Welcome to Dunreyth Alpacas

Dunreyth Alpacas is a small business owned by a husband and wife team near Chichester on the side of the South Downs.

Peta and Bruce live in an idyllic setting on the side of the South Downs in West Sussex. They currently run their herd of Alpacas on 13 acres of mixed grass and woodland.

They breed friendly Alpacas in a variety of colours for Fibre (Unique Hand knitted garments), selling on and of course the Walking experience.

2011 was their best year ever with Alpaca sales and visits.

People from South Africa, China, Hong Kong (a lady booked her walk from H. K), Holland, India and The Arab Emirates, visited and were enthralled by our friendly Alpacas.

Alpacas were sold as far away as Gloucestershire with some sold as Pets/ flock guards and others for breeding. Locally we have helped with starter herds and stud services all with follow up support .

We are also available to help new owners in the area with their Alpacas even if not sourced from us.

We still have the following for sale: females, wethers, non breeding males and a stunning proven stud male.

Most females reduced to £2000 with free mating.

All males are halter trained.

Starter herds are a speciality with full back up and training included in the price.

All females bought from Dunreyth can have a free mating with any of our stud males.

For a while now they have been training their young alpacas to walk to hand; thus enabling people to walk these young alpacas.

The First Dunreyth Hen Party and Camping group

We had a party of 12 ladies for an alternative Hen Party. They had a walk with our alpacas, a party at The Barley Mow and camped overnight. A great time was had by all and a pleasure for the hosts Peta & Bruce.

Staying overnight is an option when booking a party with us.

If you wish to adopt an alpaca, or to buy vouchers, please check our adoption page.

AN ORGANIC smallholding in Southbourne is hoping for some top quality produce after starting an ex-poo-riment using manure from alpacas.

Tuppenny Barn Organics on Main Road has teamed up with Dunreyth Alpacas based in Funtington. Its owners Bruce and Peta Ives keep around 40 of the cute creatures and can take the animals for a walk in the country.

It was during one of these walks that Tuppenny Barn founder Maggie Haynes got talking to Peta and discovered the qualities of alpaca manure and decided that it could be put to good use on the smallholding to see what benefits it can bring.
